This website uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol. This is a standard technology to keep internet connection secure. It encrypts all transmitted data so that it is not possible for criminals to read or modify any information from one’s web session.

Functional or necessary cookies have no implications for privacy/GDPR and as such do not require consent from the users. They ensure the website works properly, e.g. remembers your settings.
Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics to count the number of visitors and learn about the way they use our website. That includes technology they use (e.g., mobile vs desktop, specific browsers), which pages get visited most, how long one would stay on the website, etc. This information helps us monitor that the website functions properly and provides insights on how to improve your experience. The statistics also shows how people find us (via search engine, particular media channels etc.) and that can be useful for our marketing. We chose anonymous analytics (IP addresses are not identifiable and the statistics data cannot be linked to persons). We have a Data Processing agreement with Google, and they are granted no access to our visitors’ data, nor do any other parties.
Our website does not use targeted advertising cookies.
Accepting, declining and removing cookies.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically but you can choose to disable cookies via your browser. Blocking all cookies will result in many websites not working properly. Therefore it is better to only decline undesired cookies from third parties. You can also let your browser automatically delete cookies when you close the browser.

On my blog I occasionally link to external websites relevant for the content. I take every effort to only use safe links, however, clicking on these websites may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. Third party websites have their own privacy regulations and we encourage you to read them.
The social sharing plugin used on our blog (Sassy Social Sharing) is GDPR compatible and does not track, store or share any user data. We chose not to use the official social buttons that require loading external scripts (such as like Facebook Like/Recommend official button, Twitter tweet official button, or Facebook Comments). This privacy policy does not apply to your further interactions with social media websites which are goverened by the policies of the companies providing the related media.
Collecting information
Most pages of this website do not require providing personal information. When you sign up to my newsletter you are asked to fill in your name and email address.
Personal data
I use your personal data (namely, your contact information) after you had established contact with me. I do this to contact you back to provide you with requested information. When you contact me you will not be added to the newsletter, and your data is not put into any database.
When a client books my photographic services, I need their name and contact information to fulfill the order. This data is processed and used solely by Olga Rook. Your information is stored securely and is never sold or disclosed to third parties (unless that would be legally requested by the authorities).
In case photographic products are delivered directly to client (though mostly they are delivered by me personally) technical people from the producer/delivery service would require one’s name and address for delivery purposes.
The only person apart from myself who has access to my business banking administration data including client payments is my accountant, who is GDPR compliant.
According to the requirements of the Dutch tax authorities, this data must be kept for at least 7 years. If you want your personal details to be removed from my systems other than accounting (e.g. from email) you can send me an email request.
Newsletter
My newsletters are operated via Mailchimp, one of the leading platforms in that field. They meet the GDPR requirements. In Mailchimp I can see the statistics per newsletter. This statistics helps me improve my newsletters. It does include information per subscriber (name and email are the basis of subscription) if they had opened a specific newsletter. No data from this source is shared with third parties. Naturally, it is made easy for anyone to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any moment.
Do we share your data?
We never share your personal data with any third parties unless that would be legally required by the authorities.

We keep our privacy policy under regular review and may place updates on this web page (for instance, if the law or technology changes).
