Farewell 2014, Welcome 2015!

The year is coming to an end. I hope you have had a good year and would like to thank you for your support and to wish you happy holidays and a healthy and prosperous 2015!

I have a busy and good year behind. I am extremely grateful to my portrait clients for their trust and for all special moments I was allowed to capture. It was an international experience as well: my clients originally came not only from the Netherlands but also from China, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Mexico, Russia, and the United States. We had great locations in Rotterdam and its surroundings, but also in The Hague, Utrecht, Leiden, Soest, Arnhem, Alkmaar, at the seaside in Zeeland, in the dunes of Wassenaar, at the riding school in Delft, among the flower fields of Lisse and the windmills of Kinderdijk! I have enjoyed all the photo sessions and have learnt a lot from my clients.

It was also a fruitful year for my fine art photography. I participated in exhibitions in Rotterdam and at several galleries in the US: in New Orleans, Los Angeles, in Vermont, Oregon and Virginia. I am honoured to have received the 2nd place at the Zebra Awards 2014, and six nominations at the 9th Spider Awards, both international Black and White photography competitions. Three of my flower compositions made it to the Best Of  PhotoVogue this year.

The most recent news just today from New York: two of my child portraits were chosen as Juror’s Selection and Honorable Mention in the Portraits 2014 juried competition at the New York Center for Photographic Art. The exhibition will take place in April 2015 at the New Century Artists gallery in New York.

And, of course, I am glad I have moved successfully! It took more time and energy than expected but it’s settled now! I am sitting in my office looking at the falling snow and little birds in the garden. My new home office/studio is now just a few miles away from the previous one and is located in Krimpen aan den IJssel, so I am still in the Rotterdam area. As before, I work on location throughout the Netherlands and Belgium.

Thank you again and I hope you and your family will enjoy the holiday season!
