A Brazilian love story in Holland
Daniel and Julia are a beautiful Brazilian couple living in Rotterdam. They knew each other back in Brazil but their love story unfolded in the Netherlands: Julia did her master and then also worked here, and Daniel is now completing his PhD at the RSM Erasmus University.
The couple got married in Brazil last year, and Holland – with its bicycles and wooden shoes – was the theme of their wedding party. When returning to Holland Julia took her wedding dress with her: she dreamt of a “trash the dress” romantic photo session among the colorful Dutch flower fields.
In Holland the newlyweds received a photo session as a special gift from their friends. When I heard about Julia’s “trash the dress” concept I just loved it!
In case you don’t know it: “trash the dress” is a creative photo shoot held at any time after the wedding. You have all freedom with inspiring locations, don’t have to worry about keeping your dress in perfect order, can embrace the elements and enjoy that romantic wedding feeling again.
We were waiting for the tulips. They came late this year but our estimation for the right moment was perfect. The flower fields were in full glory and the sunshine (Julia really hoped for it!) made our photos look like shameless Holland promotion.
We have discovered beautiful flower fields in the “Bulb region”, not far from Keukenhof and Lisse. Gorgeous colors! Flaming red tulips to symbolize passion, pink ones for happiness, and gentle lilac hyacinths for tenderness.
And we had even more of the typical Dutch experience: windmills and cows, rivers and boats. In Oude Wetering, Julia and Daniel wore wooden shoes and even found a bicycle to complete the referral to their wedding theme!
In two months from now, Daniel and Julia will be leaving the Netherlands to start working in Portugal. I am really glad we were on time to create special memories of their stay – and romantic story – in Holland.
